The Timor Pony is an ancient breed originating from Timor Island, Indonesia. It likely descends from Mongolian or Chinese ponies imported centuries ago, which adapted to the island's challenging climate and terrain. The breed developed naturally, without significant human intervention, to become a robust and resilient animal. It is recognized as a distinct breed in Indonesia and is exported to other Southeast Asian countries and Australia.

Conformation and physique
